A-)- USE OF VERNIER CALLIPERS

INTRODUCTION-:- It is an instrument which is used for measuring small lengths of solid objects where an ordinary scale cannot be applied. it is also used to measure the depth and internal and external diameters of an object. It was designed by the French mathematician Pierre Vernier hence called Vernier Callipers.

It consists of main scale engraved on a steel metallic strip and a vernier scale which slides over the main scale. There is a screw S which can fix the vernier

B-)-USE OF SCREW GAUGE

INTRODUCTION-:It is an instrument which is used to measure the thickness and diameter of a thin sheet or a wire. Its function is based upon the principle of micrometer screw, according to which if a screw is rotated, it always advances through equal linear distances for equal amount of rotation and the magnitude of linear distance moves is proportional to spacing between two threads of the screw.

C-)-USE OF BEAM BALANCE

INTRODUCTION-:-Principle of Beam Balance-:-It works on the principle of moments. If the two pans of the beam balance are of equal masses and arms of the beam balance are of equal length, then clockwise movement is equal to the anticlockwise moment and beam remains horizontal when it is raised with lever arrangement when object of unknown mass is kept in left pan, beam turns in anticlockwise direction. Standard weights are placed in the right pan so that beam attains horizontal equilibrium.

D-)-LENGTH OF SECOND’S PENDULUM USING APPROPRIATE GRAPH

INTRODUCTION-:- A motion that repeats itself over and over again after a regular interval of time is called periodic motion. The regular interval of time after which the periodic motion is again repeated is called its time period.

A motion that repeats itself over and over again about its mean position such that it remains confined within two well defined limits (called extreme position) on either side of the mean position is called oscillatory motion.

The periodic and bounded motion of a particle about its mean position may be called vibratory motion. It easily follows that all vibratory motions are periodic motions are not vibratory.

The motion executed by simple pendulum is the example  of vibratory and periodic motion and this motion is said to be simple harmonic motion.
